Performance & Experience
The Haines Hunter SS725 is renowned for its exceptional on-water performance, offering a soft, dry, and stable ride in a variety of conditions. The precise 21° deep V hull is designed to “knife cleanly through waves” rather than pounding on them, resulting in a very smooth and comfortable ride, even in rough sea conditions. The hull incorporates longitudinal strakes and a distinctive flair at the bow, which provide lift and effectively throw spray away from the boat, ensuring the deck and windscreen remain dry.
The boat offers excellent control and stability at all speeds. Its low center of gravity helps minimize “rock ‘n’ roll” when at anchor.
Owners of this model also note the boat is responsive and sure-footed, handling turns and power well, leading to a sense of security and confidence for the operator.

Development and design
Successor to the 700: The SS725 was designed to replace the previous 700 model, while retaining the acclaimed rough-water handling and ride characteristics of its predecessor.
Enhanced Dimensions: The 725 is longer by 250mm, wider by 150mm, and deeper in the sides by 25mm compared to the 700, providing more cockpit area and internal volume.
Modern Construction: A significant change in the 725 was the introduction of a full non-skid gelcoat composite structural cockpit liner, replacing the fiberglass-over-tanalised plywood construction of the 700. This makes the boat lighter, stronger, and more rigid.

History of the Haines Hunter SS725
The Haines Hunter SS725 (Sport Sedan) was first released in 2011 as a replacement for the 700 model. This 700 model was replaced due to a factory fire at Haines Hunter which destroyed the moulds.
The 725 is longer by 250mm, wider by 150mm, and deeper in the sides by 25mm, providing a bigger cockpit area for fishing and more internal space. Also significant change was the introduction of a full non-skid gelcoat composite structural cockpit liner, replacing the previous method of fibreglass over tanalised plywood. This improved durability, reduced weight, and allowed for better design features like more toe room under side pockets.
