Development and Design

The Haines Hunter SS660 features a 21-degree deep V hull design for a smooth ride, with longitudinal “strakes” for lift and to keep the deck dry. It also has a high rake at the front for dryness, a wide beam for stability, and a spacious cockpit. This combination creates a versatile design for both performance and family use. The forward sections are engineered with a fine entry to provide a softer ride, while a high rake at the front keeps the bow dry in chop. A wider beam at the stern contributes to stability when stationary. The design prioritizes a large cockpit, providing plenty of room for fishing or diving without compromising on family comfort. The Sport Sedan (SS) model features a GRP hardtop for protection from the elements.

The Haines Hunter SS660 was first released in 2006 and was part of Haines Hunter’s post-1980s expansion that focused on building larger, more versatile boats to suit the local market.
