Performance & Experience

This Haines Hunter Overlander OP725 offers excellent on-water performance and handling due to its proven 21° deep V hull, and features a seamless integration of an advanced amphibious system. Performance

  • On Water: The boat is widely praised for its exceptional ride quality, comfort, and stability in all sea conditions. The signature deep V hull is designed to “knife through waves” for a smooth, dry experience. The added weight of the amphibious system is reportedly barely noticeable while underway.
  • Speed: With a 350hp V6 outboard, it can reach a top speed of over 45 knots, and it cruises comfortably between 25 and 35 knots. It is also available with 250hp or 300hp options, which still provide ample power.
  • Seamless Integration: The Anura amphibious system is seamlessly integrated, with hydraulic hoses and electrical cables hidden in conduits and the pump/motor components housed under a cover between the rear seats.
  • Reinforced Construction: To accommodate the amphibious system, the hull and transom were strengthened with carbon fiber reinforcing, replacing the usual E-glass in those specific areas, to add strength without significant extra weight. The boat also features a structural GRP (glass reinforced plastic) floor system.
  • On Land: The Anura S25 all-wheel-drive amphibious system allows the boat to travel up to 9 kph (about 5.6 mph) on land. It is operated via a discreet joystick and can negotiate various beach types, though it is not an all-terrain vehicle. The system is quiet and easy to use, with one-button auto-up/auto-down wheel functions.
The OP725’s development focused on integrating the amphibious capabilities without compromising the core performance and quality of the standard 725 range.

History of the Haines Hunter Overlander OP725

The Haines Hunter Overlander OP725 was introduced to the market in 2024, targeting a niche segment of the market for high-end amphibious boats.
The Overlander OP725 was born from the idea of creating a premium, high-performance amphibious boat. The “OP” stands for “Overlander Pursuit”.
The design philosophy was to make the amphibious components appear seamlessly integrated, rather than an afterthought, by concealing hydraulic hoses, electrical cables, and the power unit.
